After the election
we can think we were heard
or not heard
depending on who is elected
in a huge round
of "my mother said that you are the very best one",
or maybe we'll count
and re-count
and they will think we forgot again
because we are supposed to be pretty stupid
after all is said and done.

And maybe we will have a trillion dollar game of tag.
Cartoon tag,
and the flags can be dripping
with the blood of fallen soldiers
who need to go home before dark.
